About Pre-Orders

Regarding Payment
The required funds to pre-order content will automatically be paid out of available funds at the time of payment, whereupon the download will begin. The payment and download date is seven days before the product is released. The payment and download date for the product can be checked from Pre-Orders in the Shop Menu of your Nintendo Account settings or in the email sent to you when you completed your pre-order. (Bundle products with different product release dates have a date of payment 7 days before the earliest product release in the bundle.)

If funds are sufficient at the time of payment and "Funds Only" has been selected in the Shop Menu, payment will be carried out. However, payment cannot be carried out in the event that the payment amount exceeds your funds. If funds are insufficient at the time of payment, the insufficient amount will be added to your funds using the payment method you have set in the Shop Menu (credit card or PayPal), and payment will be automatically carried out.

If there are multiple pre-orders with the same payment and download date, then payment will be made only for the items that can be paid for within the scope of your funds. The order of payments cannot be designated. The maximum limit of available funds that can be registered is R3,000.00.

The payment method for adding funds can be changed at any time from the Shop Menu in your Nintendo Account settings. The payment method you set for pre-orders is also used when making automatic renewal payments.

Users under 18 years of age cannot set a payment method. The necessary amount will be deducted automatically from your Nintendo eShop funds.

Depending on the server status, it is possible that payment could be carried out later than the listed payment and download date.

Payment is completed and the download starts immediately for pre-orders made on or after the payment and download date (seven days before product release). After the download starts, you may not make cancellations.
Regarding Pre-Orders Made Using Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers
A voucher can be used to pre-order a product as long as the release date for the product is before the voucher expires.

The voucher will be redeemed on or after the payment and download date, whereupon the download will begin. The payment and download date is seven days before the product's release date.

You can still pre-order products even if you do not have a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership. You can also pre-order more products than you have eligible vouchers. However, pre-orders may be cancelled in the following cases:

・ If the voucher used to pre-order a product no longer exists on the payment and download date, for example because it has been redeemed for another product in the meantime.
・ If you used a voucher to pre-order a product, but no longer have a paid membership to Nintendo Switch Online at the time of redemption.

If there are multiple pre-orders with the same payment and download date, only your currently available vouchers will be redeemed. The order in which vouchers are redeemed cannot be designated.
Regarding Cancellation
You can find information on your statutory right to cancel at the end of the Nintendo Account Agreement.

We grant you an additional, voluntary right to cancel. This voluntary right to cancel does not affect your statutory right to cancel or any statutory warranty rights. You can cancel your pre-order until the start of the download, which will immediately follow the completion of payment. The payment will take place starting from seven days before the product’s official release. You can check the payment and download date from Pre-Orders in the Shop Menu in your Nintendo Account settings.

In the following cases, you cannot receive special offers or Gold Points for pre-ordered products:
・ If you cancel your pre-order;
・ If your pre-order was cancelled by Nintendo (for example, if you cannot make payment for your pre-ordered product because of insufficient funds, restrictions based on age ratings, redundant purchases, an extension of the product development period, or because the primary console no longer exists); or
・ If you use a Nintendo Switch Game Voucher for the pre-order (in this case you can still receive applicable special offers, but you cannot receive Gold Points).

The payment amount will be made based on the price when you pre-order the product, except when explicitly stated otherwise during the pre-order process. (Please note that discounts etc. may be conditional on holding a specific product at the time of payment.) Also, if there is a special offer when you pre-order the product, the offer will be granted. Depending on the status of discounts and availability of special offers, cancelling your pre-order may cause you to be unable to purchase or pre-order the product for the same price or unable to receive special offers.
How to Cancel Pre-Orders
Pre-orders can be cancelled from Pre-Orders in the Shop Menu in your Nintendo Account settings.
Regarding Gold Points
If you pre-order more than seven days before the product's release, you cannot set the number of Gold Points that will be used for the pre-order payment. If you choose to use Gold Points, then any applicable points will be used on the payment and download date. The maximum value of points that can be used is the purchase price for the pre-order. Any remaining amount will automatically be deducted from your balance.

Even if you choose to use points, the number of points used will not be reflected in the price displayed at the time of pre-order.

If you pre-order on or after the payment and download date (seven days before the product's release date), you will be able to choose the number of Gold Points that are used.

Note: You cannot use Gold Points towards pre-orders made using Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers.
Additional Information
Messages related to pre-orders will be sent to the email address registered to the relevant Nintendo Account. If a child account is being used, this information will be sent to the email address registered to the parent or guardian's Nintendo Account.

If there are important changes related to pre-ordered products (including a significant delay in the release date), notifications will be made using methods such as announcements on Nintendo eShop or the official site for the game, or via email.

It is possible that details regarding purchase and play, including ratings and download size, might not be finalised at the time of the pre-order. For the most recent information, please regularly check the product information page.

While you have pre-ordered a product, you may not change the country/region setting for your Nintendo Account. To change this setting, you must first cancel all pre-orders.
