Horror Cliche

Nintendo Switch

The rules of horror are meant to be broken...

We all know the rules of horror by heart. The maniac killer always walks slowly while you sprint for your life. There's always a suspiciously large ventilation shaft to crawl through. The walls are inevitably covered in cryptic, bloody messages, such as "REDRUM." We've seen it all a thousand times before. But what if those predictable tropes suddenly stopped working the way they were supposed to? Welcome to Horror Cliche, a first-person meta-adventure that turns the terrifying tropes you love to hate completely upside down. This isn't a game about surviving the night; it's a game about surviving absurdity. Navigate dark, atmospheric environments where monsters monologue about genre flaws, jump scares become punchlines, and typical survival instincts lead to unexpected outcomes. The game features 7 uniquely crafted levels, each designed to poke fun at a different horror movie or game trope. Although you can jump into any level from the beginning, playing them in order reveals a hilarious, self-aware journey that pokes fun at the movies and games we love to be scared by. Grab your flashlight, ignore the ominous bloody handprints, and prepare for a horror experience!
