EGGCONSOLE Schwarzschild II PC-9801

Nintendo Switch

As supreme ruler, survive the war-torn galaxy by mastering diplomacy and strategy. This game blends cinematic twists with punishing combat against an AI.

This sci-fi simulation game was released by Kogado Studio in 1990. Players take on the role of the ruler of "Oraculum" in the Somali Star System, tasked with surviving in a galaxy torn apart by war. The game is turn-based, utilizing a strategic command selection system based on point consumption. You must strengthen your nation and military to fight off enemies by mastering various commands, including Diplomacy (offering aid, signing non-aggression pacts, forming alliances, and preparing for war) and Military (building shipyards, producing units, and organizing fleets). The AI has been significantly enhanced in this installment—simple tactics like using decoys may no longer work—providing a truly challenging and satisfying combat experience. The highlights of this title are not only its high difficulty level but also its storytelling. The narrative does not progress through cutscenes between missions; instead, it unfolds naturally through a unique system as you fight on a battlefield with a high degree of freedom. With major plot twists similar to the previous installment, players can enjoy a dramatic progression reminiscent of a sci-fi movie. *This application does not have a scene select mode. *The main game and gallery screen (*Gallery) are in Japanese version. *Other menu screens and "How to play" screens are in English.
