However, a service to back-up Animal Crossing: New Horizons save data and recover it from the server in the event of console failure, loss or theft is available to Nintendo Switch Online members. - Note: to transfer save data, you will need to download the Island Transfer Tool from Nintendo eShop as this game does not support save data transfer via the Data Management settings. - Using the System Transfer feature to move software and save data from an existing Nintendo Switch to a new Nintendo Switch 2 will transfer all Animal Crossing: New Horizons content, include save data. However, resident data must then be connected to the relevant user profile on the Nintendo Switch 2 before operating as normal.
