The Safe Place is a deep and compelling social point-and-click adventure that delves into the harsh realities of childhood and the complexities of self-sacrifice. As part of a trilogy from the developer of Little Kite and Repentant, this game takes players on an emotional journey through the intertwined fates of two characters. Set in a post-Soviet city in the early 90s, during a severe economic crisis, the story follows Alexander, an ordinary engineer, and Christina, a 12-year-old girl with a troubled past. After accidentally killing a man through negligence, Alexander is desperate to hide his crime, and persuades Christina, the only witness, to stay silent. In return, she asks him to help with her own issues. What starts as a seemingly good deal quickly spirals into an intense story of moral dilemmas and unforeseen consequences. The gameplay features classic point-and-click puzzles interwoven with dramatic plot twists, creating a powerful narrative experience that takes players on an emotional rollercoaster from empathy to resentment.
