After protagonist Shirogane Takeru sees the heroine’s escape from Earth in “Muv-Luv Unlimited”, the story depicts those left behind on Earth who nonetheless continue to fight against their doom. • Episode:00 The human evacuation plan to the Barnard’s Star system was carried out, and five days after the massive gravitational distortion caused by humanity’s desperate counteroffensive, Operation Babylon, those left on Earth continued to struggle for survival. A small group of survivors gathered on the stranded U.S. aircraft carrier JFK, still desperately searching for a safe haven. That day, U.S. Marine Second Lieutenant Wilbert D. Collins picked up a faint distress signal during a reconnaissance mission and moved to investigate. • Episode:01 The massive gravitational distortion brought about by Operation Babylon turned Earth into a world of death. In Tacoma, part of the U.S.-controlled Seattle Imperial Lease Territory and one of humanity’s few remaining habitable zones, was Imperial Japanese Army Lieutenant Tatsunami Hibiki. He continued to fight day after day to defend Seattle from relentless BETA attacks. With food scarce and ammunition supplies running low, Hibiki fought on in a desperate struggle to survive. • Episode:02 To address the food shortage that had been destabilising Seattle, the Empire began building a food production plant. However, on its first day of operation, the facility was seized by unknown assailants, and Supreme Commander Koubuin Yuuhi went missing. To rescue the Commander and eliminate the terrorists, Hibiki’s War Dog Squad stormed the plant, now a full-scale battlefield. • Episode:03 The war between Japan, the United States, Canada, and France — born from the food crisis — quietened for a time, but the underlying issue remained.
