In January of the year 209 AD, Liu Bei assumes control of northern Jing Province following Liu Biao's death, and three strategists—Zhuge Liang, Pang Tong, and Xu Shu—join Liu Bei's ranks.
Cao Cao's invasion of Hebei is slowed down by these three military strategists, and his standoff with Yuan Shang's army continues.
Meanwhile, southern Jing Province is controlled by Liu Cong, who has defected from Liu Bei, and warlords in different regions are taking steps to achieve their own ambitions.
